Sag Harbor Boat Rental Agency: Launching from Hidden Cove Marina
Yacht Hampton Boating Club & Marina is the home base for Sag Harbor boat rentals and yacht charters from a private marina in Hidden Cove on Mill Creek, Noyac. Our co-located Yacht Hampton fleet of 17 luxury charter boats and yachts launches from 51 Pine Neck Avenue, just outside Sag Harbor Village.
This page tells you what to expect when you arrive at the marina for a rental, what the marina offers boating guests, and how to choose between self-drive and captained options. To browse the actual fleet and book a specific boat, visit yachthampton.com.
Self-Drive or Captained: Which One Do You Need?
Captained Charter
A USCG-licensed captain runs the boat. You and your guests relax. This is the easier choice for most visitors and the right choice for groups of any size. Captained charters cover the boat, safety gear, and captain time. Fuel and gratuity are usually extra. Plan on a 15 to 20 percent captain gratuity.
Self-Drive Bareboat Rental
You drive the boat yourself. This is the right choice if you are an experienced boater who knows local waters. New York State strongly recommends a Boater Safety Certificate for the driver. Self-drive rentals include the boat and safety gear. You pay for fuel and you leave a credit card security deposit. The deposit is typical for the area and covers any damage or missing items.
If you are unsure which fits you, call us. We will help you decide based on group size, plans, and experience.
The Yacht Hampton Fleet at the Marina
Our co-located fleet includes 17 boats from 22 feet up to 62 feet. Rather than list every boat here, we group them by what you want to do:
Family Day on the Water
Bayliner-class boats around 22 feet are family-friendly with shade, comfortable seating, and easy handling. Best for groups of 4 to 6.
Big Group or Special Event
Larger motor yachts up to 62 feet host bigger groups. The 51-foot Galeon and the 62-foot Pershing are the marquee charter boats for milestone celebrations and entertaining clients.
Sunset Cruise
Most of our boats are well-suited for sunset cruises across Noyac Bay. The captain knows the best anchor spots for the golden hour.
Fishing
Inshore fishing charters and family fishing trips are available with experienced captains who know local waters.
Watersports
Wakeboarding, water skiing, tubing, and wakesurfing are available on dedicated tow boats. Equipment is provided.
Electric and Eco
Yacht Hampton is the New York distributor for Rand Boats and Vision Marine electric boats. We offer rentals on the Rand Supreme 27 and the 22-foot Yacht Hampton Electric. Clean, quiet, and great for shorter cruises in the cove.

What's Included and What Costs Extra
Hidden fees frustrate everyone. Here is what is in the base rate and what is not:
Base Rate Includes
- The boat for your booked time
- Required safety gear (life jackets, fire extinguisher, sound device, flares)
- Licensed captain on captained charters
- GPS navigation
Usually Extra
- Fuel (typical for the area; confirm at booking)
- Captain gratuity on captained charters (plan for 15 to 20 percent)
- New York State sales tax
- Security deposit on self-drive bareboat rentals (held on a credit card, returned after the boat is checked back in)
- Food, drinks, and any specialty water toy rentals
Same-Location Pickup and Drop-Off
Captains return guests to the same dock where you started. If you want to be dropped off somewhere else (Shelter Island, Sag Harbor Village dock, etc.) at the end of your trip, you can arrange this in advance. You will be responsible for getting back to your car.
What to Expect When You Arrive at the Marina
This is what the marina side of the experience looks like:
Address and Parking
51 Pine Neck Avenue, Sag Harbor, NY 11963. On-site parking is available. Pine Neck Avenue is in Noyac, a residential hamlet about 12 minutes from Sag Harbor Village. The road is small, so use GPS.
Arrive 30 Minutes Early
Plan to arrive 30 minutes before your booked departure. This gives you time to park, find the dock, meet your captain (on captained trips), get a safety briefing, and load up. June through August captains depart at fixed times because of demand.
The Beach Club Lounge
While you wait for your boat to be ready, the Mediterranean-inspired Beach Club lounge is open to guests. Shade sails, lawn furniture, cornhole, and a giant Connect Four. Restrooms and an outdoor shower are on-site.
After Your Trip
Captains will return you to the marina at your booked end time. Please be ready to deboard promptly so the crew can prepare the boat for the next guests. Most guests grab the outdoor shower for a post-cruise rinse, then head out for dinner. The Bell and Anchor and other Noyac restaurants are nearby.

For captained charters, no. The USCG-licensed captain runs the boat. For self-drive bareboat rentals, New York State strongly recommends a Boater Safety Certificate for the driver. The minimum rental age is 21.
Are fuel and gratuity included in the rental rate?
Fuel is usually extra and is added at the end of the trip based on use. Captain gratuity is not included; plan for 15 to 20 percent on captained charters. Sales tax applies.

The primary renter must be 21 or older. There is no minimum age for guests on the boat, but children under 13 must wear a life jacket while underway.
How far in advance should I book?
For July and August weekends, book 4 to 8 weeks ahead. For weekdays or shoulder season (May to mid-June, late September, October), 1 to 2 weeks is usually enough. Last-minute bookings sometimes work on weekdays.
Do you have electric boats?
