Summer Trailer Storage in Sag Harbor

*Sunset View From The Dock

Nobody plans for the trailer. You sort out the slip, you sort out the launch, the boat is in the water by Memorial Day and everything is handled. Then you go home and there is a twenty foot empty trailer sitting across your driveway until October. Summer trailer storage in Sag Harbor solves a problem most boaters do not think about until they are living with it, and we price it as one flat number for the season: $1,800 per trailer. Call or text 631-500-7777.

The Problem Nobody Writes About

Every marina on the East End publishes something about winter boat storage. Almost none of them address the reverse situation, which affects exactly the same people six months later.

Where the trailer actually goes

Once the boat is in a slip, the trailer has to live somewhere for the season. Most owners default to the driveway, the side yard, or a friend's property. All three have costs that are easy to underestimate.

The driveway math

A trailer takes a car space for five months. In a Hamptons summer, when you have guests, a second car, and a rental turnover schedule, that space is worth more than it is in February.

Neighborhood rules

Plenty of East End neighborhoods, homeowners associations, and rental agreements restrict what can be parked and stored in view of the street. If you rent, or if your property sits under an association agreement, it is worth reading the rules before you assume the trailer can simply sit there. We are not going to tell you what your specific covenant says, but we can tell you how often this catches people.

The alternative is towing it twice

The other option is hauling the trailer home in May and back out in October. That is two round trips with a trailer behind you on Noyac Road in high season, plus fuel, plus the hitch time. Some people genuinely prefer this. Many people think they prefer it until they have done it twice.

What sitting does to a trailer

A trailer parked on grass or gravel for five months does not come through the season unchanged. Tires flat spot and lose pressure, bearings sit unturned, wiring corrodes, and surface rust starts wherever the galvanising has been chipped by a season of launching. None of that is dramatic on its own. It becomes a problem on the October morning when you need the trailer to work and discover a tire down and a light out. A trailer stored on a working yard is at least somewhere people walk past it.

What Summer Trailer Storage Costs for the Season

A flat rate, not a per foot rate

This is a different pricing model from our winter program on purpose. Winter trailer storage is billed at $75 per measured linear foot of trailer, because in winter you are usually storing a trailer with a boat on it and the length drives everything. Summer trailer storage is an empty trailer taking a fixed footprint in our yard, so it is a flat $1,800 per trailer regardless of length.

Your trailer is here, with your boat

If you keep a seasonal slip with us, storing the trailer here means the trailer and the boat are in the same place. When you pull the boat in the fall, the trailer is fifty yards away, not an hour behind a hitch.

A small yard, which is the point

We have 26 slips and a working yard on Mill Creek in Noyac. We are not a self storage facility with a gate code and nobody on site. There is a marina here, staffed, with people who know which trailer is yours.

Who This Actually Fits

Seasonal slip holders

The clearest case for summer trailer storage. Boat in the water from spring through fall, trailer with nowhere useful to be. If your slip is with us, the trailer is already at the same address as the boat, which matters more in October than it does in May.

Owners who trailer occasionally

If you keep the boat in a slip most of the season but want the trailer available for a haul, a repair, or a trip somewhere else, having it on site rather than at your house makes that a same day decision instead of a two day project.

Renters and seasonal residents

If your East End property is a rental or a seasonal place, storing a trailer there is often not an option at all, and shipping it back to wherever you live full time is worse.

Owners who inherited a trailer with the boat

Plenty of used boats come with a trailer attached to the deal. If the boat is going straight into a slip and staying there, that trailer is an asset you now have to house without ever having decided to. Storing it here for the season is often cheaper than the space it takes at home, and it keeps the option open to actually use it later.

What to Confirm Before You Book

Bring us your trailer's length and axle configuration when you call, and we will confirm placement and tell you exactly what your season of summer trailer storage looks like.

Tell us whether you expect to need the trailer during the season, because that changes where we put it. A trailer you will not touch until October can sit further back in the yard. A trailer you might want on two days' notice should sit somewhere we can get to it easily. It costs the same either way, but it saves you a phone call in August.

If you also want haul out and winter storage arranged in the same conversation, we can do that in one call so your whole year is set rather than handled in four separate phone calls across two seasons.
