Sag Harbor Yacht Club: FleetShare Membership at Hidden Cove Marina
Yacht Hampton Boating Club & Marina is Sag Harbor's modern yacht club. No boat ownership. No multi-year waiting list. No five-figure initiation fee. Members get access to a fleet of 17 luxury boats and yachts, from 22 feet to 62 feet, all docked at our private marina in Hidden Cove on Mill Creek in Noyac.
This page explains how FleetShare membership works, what is included, what it costs compared to owning a boat, and why this model fits some boaters better than a traditional yacht club.
Two Ways to Think About a Yacht Club
The phrase "yacht club" can mean two different things. Before you read further, it helps to know which one you want.
Traditional Yacht Club
A membership-based social club. You often need a sponsor and a multi-year waiting list. You pay an initiation fee (often five figures), annual dues, and many require you to own your own boat. You get a clubhouse, racing programs, social events, and historical tradition. Sag Harbor's Breakwater Yacht Club and Sag Harbor Yacht Club are examples.
Modern Fractional Boat Club (FleetShare)
A pay-to-play boat access model. No ownership. No sponsor needed. No multi-year wait. You pay a one-time package fee for a set number of trips and book any boat in the fleet up to 6 months in advance. A USCG-licensed captain runs the boat for you. Yacht Hampton's FleetShare program is this kind of yacht club. Other examples include Barton & Gray Mariner Club.
If you want the traditional clubhouse and racing experience, the marina is not for you, and we will happily recommend friends across Sag Harbor. If you want boat access without the ownership headaches, keep reading.
How FleetShare Membership Works
- Choose a membership tier based on how many trips you want over the season. We have entry, standard, and premium options. Each tier is a one-time package price for a set number of charter trips.
- Book any boat in the fleet up to 6 months in advance. The reservation system gives every member equal access. The most desirable boats and dates fill up fastest, so book early.
- Arrive at the marina at 51 Pine Neck Avenue. Your boat is fueled and ready, and a USCG-licensed captain meets you at the dock.
- Cruise. The captain handles navigation, docking, and weather calls. You and your guests relax.
- Return to the dock. No cleaning. No storage. No insurance paperwork. The crew handles all of it.

Why This Beats Owning a Boat in the Hamptons
Boat ownership in the Hamptons adds up fast. Here is what you avoid by joining the club:
Boat Purchase Price
A new family-size boat starts around $150,000. A larger motor yacht like the ones in our fleet can run $500,000 to $2,000,000. Membership costs a small fraction of that.
Annual Depreciation
Boats lose value the moment they leave the dealer. Typical depreciation runs $10,000 to $60,000 per year depending on the boat's value. Members pay zero.
Dockage
A seasonal slip in Sag Harbor or Noyac for a mid-size boat runs about $5,000 to $15,000. Members pay zero (your boat lives at our dock as part of the fleet).
Maintenance, Insurance, and Winterization
Plan on $10,000 to $20,000 per year for annual upkeep, insurance premiums, fall winterization, spring launch, and shrink wrapping. Members pay zero.
Captain Hire When You Need One
A captain for a single trip runs $500 or more. Members get a captain included on every charter.
Add it up: a first-year cost of boat ownership easily reaches $50,000 to $100,000 before you factor in fuel and surprises. Membership covers a season of access at a small fraction of that, and you walk away whenever you want.
Membership Tiers
We offer three tiers based on how often you plan to be on the water:
Entry Tier: FleetShare Trial Day
Try the club before you commit. A single charter day on a fleet boat at a member-style discount. Good for first-timers or visitors who want a taste.
Standard Tier
A set number of charter trips over the season. Good for families who want 5 to 10 days on the water across the summer.
Premium Tier
Maximum access, including weekends, holidays, and the premium yachts in the fleet. Good for entertainers, executives, and frequent boaters.
Corporate FleetShare memberships are also available for companies that use boats for client entertaining. Call us for details.
Why Hidden Cove for Your Yacht Club
A Real Home Marina
Most fractional boat clubs are platforms. You book through an app, arrive at whichever dock the boat happens to be at, and leave when the trip is over. We are different: every boat in our club is docked at Yacht Hampton Marina at 51 Pine Neck Avenue. Members have a real home base with a lounge, a barbecue, and a staff who knows them.
Fleet Variety
Our fleet covers every use case. A 22-foot Bayliner for a family with young kids. A 35-foot center console for fishing. A 51-foot Galeon for entertaining. A 62-foot Pershing for a milestone celebration. Most member clubs limit you to one or two boat types.
Geographic Reach
Members can cruise across the Hamptons and East End: Sag Harbor, Greenport, Montauk, East Hampton, Shelter Island, Fishers Island. The 12-month access also covers our Florida locations for winter boating.
Booking Visibility
Members can book up to 6 months ahead. The most desirable boats and the best dates do fill up, but the long booking window gives you a real shot at the boats you want.
Captain Quality
Every captain is USCG-licensed and knows local waters. Many have run this route for years and can point out the best anchor spots, swim coves, and dock-and-dine restaurants.

Is there a waiting list?
No multi-year waiting list. We accept new members year-round subject to availability. The most desirable summer dates fill up early, so the sooner you join, the better your booking options.
Can my family use the boats with me?
Yes. Family, friends, guests, kids, colleagues, and pets are welcome on your booked charter. Most of our boats hold 6 to 12 guests. We confirm capacity per boat when you book.
Do I need to be there when my guests use a boat?
Yes. As a member, you need to be present on every charter you book. Your guests cannot use the boats without you.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, with advance notice. Tell us when you book and we will prep the boat.
What happens if I don't use all my trips in one season?
Unused trips roll over for up to 3 summers. We guarantee you will use all your trips. If you do not, we work it out.
Are fuel and gratuity included?
Fuel is not included and is added at the end of each trip based on use. Captain gratuity is not included. Plan for 15 to 20 percent on each charter.
Can I bring my own captain?
No. Our captains know the boats, the local waters, and our maintenance routines. Every member charter uses one of our USCG-licensed captains.
Is the club open year-round?
The Hamptons club season runs May 1 through October 15. Members with 12-month access can also book at our Florida locations during the winter.
